The Employee Rights and other work place rights

The Employee Rights are given to the employees of the various kinds of work places and statures so that they are not exploited in any way. Earlier on there were no laws for the employees which often resulted in their getting exploited mentally, physically, and also financially. Due to the lack of the human rights and the Employee Rights there were often individuals who would be exploited and made to work in shabby conditions without food and pay for days. The earlier experiences have made the law makers realise the need for these Employee Rights.

The Employee Rights are made so that the employee can make the most of a healthy work environment. The basic rights of the employees are to get paid for the work they do. The age of the slaves has passed away decades ago and now all the people who are engaged in some kind of work or the other are entitled to get paid for the same. The other Employee Right is the right to work in a healthy environment. Again the reference here goes back to a long time ago when the employees were made to work in the unhygienic conditions of the mines and other similar places. The Employee Rights also includes the right of the employee to get a certain amount of paid leave every year. Generally these include all the public holidays, the regular leaves which the employee is liable to get like the sick leave and the holiday leave or leave due to other reasons also. The Employee Rights also includes the rights of the employee getting a safe work place. This includes all the possibilities or working in any kinds of conditions that may cause health problems to the employee at present or in the future also. The Employee Rights also has the provisions for the employer to not discriminate between any of its employees due to any reasons like race, caste, creed and other similar options.

Apart from these the employees also have the right to approach the court in certain other instances. These include cases where the employee has been unjustifiably dismissed or has had to suffer from certain disadvantages due to the actions of the employers. There are cases where the employees have been discriminated against. The women employees often face the problems of various kinds of sexual harassments.
